Depending on whether you are affiliated or not to this Network, you might, in exceptional circumstances, be required to provide inputs both as an NCP of EASO Network of Members of Courts and Tribunals and as an EJTN Member. These are to be considered as distinct nomination processes and, accordingly, you should feel free to nominate different candidates for each.
Your affiliation can be easily indicated in the EASO system when proposing candidates mentioning which Network you are part of.
We kindly inform you that EASO is organising a pilot online activity – the “EASO Expert Panels” – A webinar series for judicial professionals. This new format is to allow members of courts and tribunals to deepen their knowledge on specific areas of the CEAS, covered by the Professional Development Series and exchange views, interpretations, recent national case law, best practices on challenging topics and recent developments in the case law of the CJEU and ECtHR with a panel of experts involving a wide range of judicial professionals and experts.
In line with the topics proposed by the Network, the pilot session, to be held online on Friday 18 June 2021, 9:30-11:30 CET, shall focus on the following topic: Balancing mutual trust and fundamental rights in inadmissibility cases: An increasing challenge for international protection judges? As such, the session is intended to focus on the ground for inadmissibility of IP applications under Article 33(2) Asylum Procedures Directive (2013/32/EU).
For more information please see leaflet attached.
Interested candidates should demonstrate being a serving member of a court or tribunal and/or a current judicial trainer, working in the field of international protection and are required to directly register by 2 June 2021 (deadline extended compared to information on the leaflet) by filing-in the registration form and by submitting their question(s) to be addressed to the panel of experts.
