EJTN – European judicial training network

The European Judicial Training Network (EJTN) is the principal platform and promoter for the training and exchange of knowledge for the European judiciary. EJTN represents the interest of over 120,000 European judges, public prosecutors and judicial trainers across Europe.

Established in 2000, EJTN’s fields of interest include EU Acquis, civil, criminal and commercial law and linguistics and sociology dedicated trainings. EJTN’s vision is to help to foster a common legal and judicial European culture.

EJTN develops training standards and programs, coordinates judicial training exchange and programs, disseminates training expertise and promotes cooperation between EU judicial institutions, whose main activity is to train judges and public prosecutors.

The Academy for Judges and Public Prosecutors in North Macedonia has participated in EJTN activities since the very beginning as a member state with the status of an observer. Through the Academy, a large number of judges and public prosecutors were and are part of the trainings organized by EJTN, for which EJTN every year delivers a training activity catalogue to the Academy, which is regularly published on the Academy’s website. At the same time, the Academy enables the newly appointed judges and public prosecutors through the EJTN’s AIAKOS program to attend the trainings foreseen with this programme and thus expand their knowledge of the European legislation.

EJTN also offers opportunities to exchange knowledge by organizing study visits.
