On May 7-8, 2026, the European Institute for Public Administration (EIPA) from Luxembourg, in cooperation with the Academy of Judges and Public Prosecutors of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Judicial Academy of Kosovo, is conducting an online training on the topic: “Judicial Cooperation in Civil, Commercial and Family Matters in the European Union”.<\/p>\n
The trainers involved are: Dr. Claudio Matera, Lecturer, Director of EIPA Luxembourg \u2013 European Centre for Judges and Lawyers, Dr. Cristina M. Mariottini, Lecturer at EIPA Luxembourg \u2013 European Centre for Judges and Lawyers, Mr. Christiane Lamesch, Senior Project Management Officer, Manager of the Programme Organisation Department in Luxembourg.<\/p>\n
The aim of this training is to provide participants with a general overview of the main instruments of EU judicial cooperation in civil, commercial and family matters, with particular attention to their implementation in practice, their interpretation by the Court of Justice of the European Union and their relevance for EU candidate countries preparing to participate in the European area of civil justice.<\/p>\n
The training methodology is a combination of expert presentations with interactive discussions, focusing on the practical implementation of EU judicial cooperation instruments. Participants analyzed the main decisions of the Court of Justice of the European Union, discussing practical examples arising in cross-border disputes and exchanging experiences regarding the implementation of EU civil justice.<\/p>\n
Beneficiaries of this training are: Judges from the Basic Level from the Courts of Kosovo and judges and public prosecutors of North Macedonia.<\/p>\n
